The sentence frame helps students remember that a sentence begins with a capital (tall) letter and has punctuation at the end (stop sign). I use hand motions to visualize which punctuation they need to use.
Examples: I am tall. Hand goes straight across until the end of the sentence and then curves downward.
Are you tall? Hand goes straight across until the end of the sentence and then curves upward.
Wow, you are tall! Hand makes a wave motion.
